The research group (FTAIS: Fashion Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainability) focuses on exploring the intersections between fashion design and advanced digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and smart sustainable materials, with the aim of developing innovative design models that address environmental and technological challenges in the fashion industry.
The group’s vision is grounded in considering fashion as an integrated design system that combines aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. It works on incorporating eco-friendly and recyclable materials alongside AI technologies to enhance creativity and improve the efficiency of design and production processes.
The group also seeks to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application by developing prototypes and market-oriented products, while fostering collaborations with industry partners to reduce waste and optimize resource and energy efficiency within the fashion sector.
Its activities align with key Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), through the adoption of environmentally responsible design practices and the development of sustainable technological solutions.
