The Exhibition of Art and Design of the Applied Science Private University Opened

Dr. Haytham Abu Khadeejah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees accompanied by Professor Shafig Haddad, University Acting President opened the exhibition of the teaching staff members of the Faculty of Art and Design which was held in the faculty gallery on Monday 27.5.2013. The works covered different subjects and included graphic design, painting and photography executed with various techniques and materials as well as porcelain works and works done with raw material techniques.
 
The visitors were received by Dr. Ali Al-Hammuuri, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, Dr. Imaad Al-Fahamaawi, Head of the Department of Interior Design and Dr. Habeeb Al-Raa'i, Head of the Department of Graphic Design who all presented to the visitors a resumé on the works, the aims of implementing them, and how they are connected to the study plans. The visitors expressed their admiration with the quality of the works, diversity of subjects, and tools of implementing the works. The exhibition was attended by a number of faculty deans, teaching staff members, university employees and students.
Dr. Abu Khadeejah and Dr. Haddad were pleased to see such a wide participation in the exhibition, the distinct level of the works, and the awareness of artists with the global developments in the different fields of art. They looked at art as one of the important media to communicate with people

Blood Donation Campaign in the Applied Science Private University Organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in Cooperation with the Ministry of Health

A blood donation campaign was organized in the Applied Science Private University. The campaign covered the university students and employees and was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the Directorate of the Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health. The campaign was met with great success among the students. The donors rushed to the bus of blood transfusion during its stop on campus from10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The administration of the Directorate of the Blood Bank expressed its satisfaction with the positive response and the good organization which the campaign witnessed. It also extended its thanks to the university administration for its efforts to render this human activity successful. Dr. Naasir Abdul-Lateef pointed out that the offer of youth will not diminish and that the students and employees of the university were and are still ahead for the welfare and voluntary deeds. It is worth mentioning that the university administration organizes, according to a prior agreement with the Blood Bank, seasonal campaigns for its students to donate blood. It also communicates with the Blood Bank to donate blood to needy patients in urgent cases. This comes within the role of the Applied Science Private University to serve the local community.

A Team of Students from the Applied Science Private University Wins in the Scientific Contest Organized by Jarash University

A team of students from the Faculty of Information Technology of the Applied Science Private University won in the Second Annual Symposium on the Works of the Students of the Faculties of Information Technology which was organized by Jarash University on Tuesday 14.5.2013, and in which the students of more than ten public and private universities who presented twenty scientific projects participated. In the contest of Scientific Pastes, the student Saalih Al-Shaami won the first rank for his scientific paste ASU For IPhone.
His project comprises uploading an application on an IPhone on which a number of electronic lectures, scientific lessons delivered by the teaching staff members of the Faculty of Information Technology in an audio-visual manner as well as a guiding map to access any room or office inside the faculty will be displayed. The Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Professor Naa'il Haraz Allah praised the efforts exerted to render such a contest successful stressing that increasing the interest, encouraging students to acquire scientific and technical skills, and qualifying them according to their majors will ensure creating scientific cardres qualified and armed with science, religion and ethics in the various majors.

A memorandum of Mutual Understanding between the Applied Science Private University and the University of Jordan

The Applied Science Private University and the University of Jordan signed a memorandum of mutual understanding with the aim of establishing direct relations to develop academic cooperation in several fields.
The memorandum of mutual understanding was signed for the Applied Science Private University by Professor Shafig Haddad, Acting President of the University and for the University of Jordan by Professor Ikhlaif Al-Taraawna. The memorandum of mutual understanding aims at developing the cooperative activities in the academic field between the two parties via conducting joint research projects, joint organization of seminars and symposia, joint coordination for holding academic conferences, exchange of printed materials, books and periodicals, in addition to the possible mutual lending from the libraries according to the laws and instructions enforced in each university. After signing the memorandum, the two parties exchanged the memorial shields. Celebrates the Birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II

Under the auspices of Professor Shafig Haddad, Acting President of the Applied Science Private University, the Deanship of Student Affairs and the University Club organized a festival to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II which included various items. In his speech, Professor Shafig Haddad, in his behalf, in the behalf of the chairman and members of the University's Board of Trustees and all the employees of the university, extended congratulations and blessing to His Majesty King Abdullah II. Professor Haddad said: " We extend to His Majesty our leader and the builder of our revival the highest expression of congratulations and blessing in the festival of hope, achievement and faithfulness, the festival of the leader, the festival of the prosperous tomorrow overbrimmed with hope for this dear country. May God preserve you, my sire, as a treasure for the country, the Arabs and the Muslims. You are but the best successor for the best forefather. We pray that God grant Your Majesty and the Hashemite family all-time health and well-being." Professor Haddad also blessed the celebration of the Kingdom in these days in commemoration of Arabicizing the army, Al-Karama Battle, and taking of His Majesty the King of his constitutional powers. He stressed that Jordan was able, by virtue of the King, to realize qualitative revival in the sectors of education, health, culture, youth, tourism, sport, industry, commerce, etc., so that Jordan became an outstanding country, a mecca for scholars, and a global touristic object. The youth had a share in development. His Majesty described them as knights of transformation and approved forming the High Council of Youth.
Student Tamir Barham recited a national poem through which he expressed his love for his country and his King. The festival was concluded with a musical activity in which singer Hammuda Al-Salman sang a number of national melodies which impressed the audience.

The Applied Science Private University Takes Part in the Exhibition of Universities

The Applied Science Private University took part in the exhibition of universities which was organized by the Islamic Scientific College with the aim of informing students about the academic majors in the bachelor's programs and the cumulative average of marks required for enrolling in each major. The visitors of the exhibition expressed their appreciation for the distinct presence of the Applied Science Private University in the exhibition and the good reputation it attained in attracting students to study in it. The Director General of the Islamic Scientific College Dr. Ghalib Mu'min and the Rector of the School of Girls Dr. Randa Al-Nabulsi commended the participation of the University and praised its history and the advanced level of its alumni. Many students of the College who visited the pavilion of the Applied Science Private University hoped to find an opportunity to study in the university and inquired about the majors, study fees and grants. A number of private universities took part in the exhibition which was also attended by a representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and a representative of the Divan of Civil Service.

The Applied Science University, Champion of University Five-Team Matches

The team of the Applied Science University has won the football championship of the university five-team matches after winning the final match against the team of Al-Zarqaa' University with 4:1 score. The two teams played the match on Prince Hamza Stadium at the finale of the university winter term which was organized by the University Athletic Union within the celebrations of the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
 Ahmad Al-Isaawi, member of the team of the Applied Science University scored the first goal in the first half of the match. In the second half, Ahmed Al-Sha'laan scored the second goal, and Haatim Ali the third goal. Then, Amjed Al-Qaasim, member of the team of Al-Zarqaa' University scored the first goal. Near the end of the match, Haatim Ali scored the fourth goal. At the end of the match the referee announced the clear championship of the team of the Applied Science University.
The team of the Applied Science University reached the final match after beating the team of Al-Zarqaa' University with 4:1 score, three goals of which were scored by Ahmed Al-Shal'aan, and one by Ahmed Al-Isaawi, while Kareem Ubaidaat scored the single goal for Al-Zarqaa' University. The team of the University of Jordan beat the team of Al-Zarqaa' University with 4:2 score in the penalty kicks after the two teams had a 3:3 tie at the end of the original and additional time.
 At the end of the of the championship, the representative of the President of the University Athletic Union, Dr. Khalid Al-Khalfaat conferred the gold medals on the team of the Applied Science University, the silver medals on the team of Al-Zrqaa' University, and the bronze medals on the teams of the University of Jordan and Yarmouk University. Present at the ceremony were the presidents of the participating universities and deans of student affairs

Letter of Mutual Understanding between the Applied Science University and the Office of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché

The Applied Science University and the Office of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché signed a letter of mutual understanding in the academic field, higher studies, and scientific research.
The letter of mutual understanding was signed for the Applied Science University by Professor Shafig Haddad, Acting President of the University and for the Office of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché by Professor Abdul-Razzaaq Al-Eisaa. The letter of mutual understanding aims at strengthening cooperation between the two parties in the areas of admitting members of the Iraqi community in Jordan to join the programs offered by the faculties of the Applied Science University.
The letter of mutual understanding stated that the members of the Iraqi community would be given discount on the university installments, and teaching staff members would take part in supervising theses of students of higher studies in Iraqi universities according to available specialization.
It was agreed that the Center for Arbitration and Legal Consultation of the Faculty of Law of the Applied Science University would offer its services to the employees of the Iraqi educational institutions by organizing training courses in arbitration. The two parties also agreed that the Applied Science University would receive Iraqi delegations to inform them about the university faculties, the majors offered, the utilities, and the laboratories, and feed them with the required expertise

The Applied Science University Organizes a Tour in the University for the Female Pupils of the Modern Systems Schools

The Faculty of Information Technology of the Applied Science University organized a tour for the female pupils of the Modern Systems Schools to the university utilities on Wednesday 7.11.2012 from 9:00 am to 12:00 am. The 60 female pupils got acquainted with the utilities and faculties. They visited the Deanship of Student Affairs and its utilities, played bowling and billiards games, toured Al-Hussein Gymnasium which offers various games, visited the olympic stadium, and were briefed by the Director of Public Relations on the stadium and the activities made in it. In the university auditorium, the pupils were given detailed information by deans and teaching staff members on the majors of the Faculties of Engineering, Pharmacy, and Information Technology as well as information on the curricula and courses in each faculty, and the need of the Jordanian job market from these majors.
In the Faculty of Information Technology, the pupils visited the computer laboratories and got informed on the competition organized by the Faculty such as future programmers and the robot. They also watched a demonstration on the robot activities, its design, manufacturing, and programming.
This tour comes within the desire of the Applied Science University to invite the pupil to live a day on campus, interact with its utilities and services, and obtain knowledge and information about its faculties and majors. A comprehensive plan and program for visits of pupils in the Kingdom will be set up. It will include entertainment and athletic activities which contribute to entertaining pupils and acquainting them with the distinct utilities and services of the Applied Science University, the University of All Arabs.

The Applied Science University Organizes a Meeting for the Iraqi Cultural Attaché with the Iraqi Students of the University

The Applied Science University organized a meeting for the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Professor Abdul-Razzaq Al-Isa with the Iraqi students of the university. After playing the Jordanian Royal Anthem and the Iraqi Republican Anthem and reciting verses from the Glorious Quran, Professor Shafig Haddad, Acting President of the University, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guest and expressed the care of the Applied Science University for supporting the Iraqi students studying in it and its persistent work for providing a suitable atmosphere for them. He stressed that the meeting came within the university's vision for communicating and interacting with its students. On his part, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché expressed his gratitude to the university administration for its warm reception and organizing the meeting, stressing that such meetings provide sufficient information about students and help the cultural attaché's  office to follow up their problems and solve them. Then, the Acting President of the University and the Iraqi Cultural Attaché honored the talented students and offered them gifts and honorary certificates. The students honored are: Mahmood Al-Chalabi, Mina Al-Sheikhli, Rusul Al-Ma'roof, Shahad Al-Khaz'ali, Bashaar Abdullah, and Al-Zahraa' Abdul-Aziz.
The representative of Iraqi students, Bashaar Jihaad expressed his gratitude to the university presidency for all they offered and offer to the Iraqi students, especially to Dr. Haytham Abu Khadeeja, Vice-Chairman of the University Board of Trustees for his continual support and offering noticeable discount on fees for Iraqi students. He also expressed his thanks to the university presidency for facilitating granting Iraqi diploma students annual residence permits and offering facilities for registering new students. The meeting included art and poetry activities presented by the Iraqi students.
